Borderlands 4 (BL4): Ripper Drill Site Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Ripper Drill Sites are the six wave-combat arenas of Borderlands 4 — Ripper faction strongholds built around stolen industrial drilling equipment, where clearing escalating mob waves triggers the site's named Boss to emerge.

Completing all 6 unlocks the Disrupted Eruption challenge, rewarding an exclusive Vehicle Cosmetic plus XP, Eridium, and cash.

All 6 are required for the Ruler of Everything trophy, along with Order Bunkers and other activities. Every site entrance is marked at exact coordinates on the Borderlands 4 maps.

How Ripper Drill Sites Work

Ripper Drill Sites are open-access — unlike Order Bunkers, which require completing Main Mission 5: One Fell Swoop, Drill Sites have no quest requirement.

They become accessible the moment their region is reachable through story progression, making them among the earliest boss farming targets available in each area.

The structure is consistent across all 6: enter the arena, kill waves of Rippers to fill a progress meter, and the site's named boss spawns when the meter reaches 100%.

The first completion of each site awards 40 SDU tokens — 240 SDU total across all 6 — but the SDU reward is first-clear only.

Repeat runs for loot yield legendary drops without additional SDU. Both Zane's Munitions and Zed's Meds vending machines sit at every arena entrance for pre-fight restocking.

After the first clear, a Moxxi's Big Encore machine spawns at the entrance for infinite boss respawns.

All 6 Ripper Drill Sites, Bosses, and Strategies

Two sites per major region. Enemies scale to current level — if a boss shows a red skull icon, return after levelling up:

  • Hungering PlainThe Prospects → boss: Sidney Pointylegs (1 boss, the most accessible early site; standard health bars, straightforward fight)

  • Idolator's NooseThe Pitted Stain → bosses: Hank the Welder, Sal the Engineer, Frank the Furnace (3 simultaneous bosses — the Foundry Freaks — each with Armor then Flesh bars; use Corrosive/Cryo for Armor, Incendiary for Flesh; Frank buffs nearby enemies with Meathead AMPs, distance is recommended; Sal and Hank charge melee; prioritise splash damage to manage all three)

  • LopsideTendercage → bosses: Pango and Bango (2 bosses; entered through a giant beast skull; use Shock and Incendiary)

  • Ruined SumplandsSaw's Clench → bosses: Baby Grunt, Lil' Grunt, and Gruntabulous Vork (3 bosses; found by the road on the north side; use Shock and Incendiary)

  • Stoneblood ForestThe Lowering March → boss: The Battle Wagon (1 boss — a giant elephant creature with Ripper riders, turrets, and rocket launchers; heavy Flesh bar, use Incendiary; defeat the riders after the main boss falls to claim loot)

  • Cuspid ClimbThe Old Scrape → bosses: Saddleback and the Immortal Boneface (2 bosses with a critical mechanic: the Immortal Boneface cannot be damaged while Saddleback lives — it has an immortality buff. Kill Saddleback first using Corrosive/Cryo for Armor and Incendiary for Flesh. Once Saddleback falls, the Immortal Boneface loses its buff; switch to Shock for its Shield, then Incendiary for its Flesh health bar)
